120g self raising flour (sifted) 4 sausages 2 eggs 300mls milk 1 pinch of salt Large knob of butter |

What to do |
1. To make the batter, put the flour, eggs, milk and a pinch of salt into a mixing bowl and beat well until bubbles appear in the mixture. 2. The batter will be better if you leave it to stand in the bowl for about two hours after you beat it, but if you don't have the time to do it, the batter will still be ok if used straight away. 2. Put the sausages in a frying pan, or under the grill, and cook them until they are brown. 3. Put the butter in an ovenproof dish or baking tin and put it into a hot over set to 200 degrees C. 4. It is important to wait until the butter has melted, then remove the dish or tin, pour in the batter and add the sausages by dropping them in. 5. Put the dish back in the oven and cook for 40 minutes. |
